As part of this booking, you will receive free trial access to our digital training platform SITRAIN access. You get access to more than 200 web-based courses 7 days before the start of the course. The test period ends automatically 7 days after the end of the course.
In SITRAIN access, you will find web-based training for topics such as basic knowledge of process control, PROFIBUS in process automation, PROFINET, or data communication with Industrial Ethernet. Additionally, there are further subjects like an overview of digitalization in process automation or an introduction to SIMIT and Virtual Controller.
We recommend that you complete the following training in preparation for the classroom training:
Spreadsheet-based engineering with the process object view
Basic functions for operator control and monitoring
Implementation of manual and automatic operation
Sequential controls with SFC
Monitoring and control of the sequential control systems
Easy to customize the operating station (OS)
Basic of the message system
Project planning of group displays and status displays
The archiving system
Interlock functions and operating modes
Bulk data engineering
Final configuration steps
Syntax rules for SIMATIC PCS 7 configuration
SIMATIC PCS 7 documentation and online support
Prerequisites
This training is for beginners in process automation. You do not need to have experience with other DCS systems. Knowledge of process automation is an advantage, as well as computer skills, especially in the Microsoft Windows environment.
Note
The course materials are in English. Practical exercises are carried out on Simatic S7-400 and the current version of Simatic PCS 7. For those primarily responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting completed installations, the course Simatic PCS 7 service (ST-PCS7SR1) (4.5 days) is recommended.
