Objectives
During 4.5 intensive days, this training provides an overview of the process system Simatic PCS 7. It is mainly theoretical overviews with shorter practical exercises. Participants learn basic programming for Simatic PCS 7. With exercises and examples, you learn how to automate a process plant. With all parts of the Simatic system from decentralized periphery with Profibus to PCS 7's automation system, AS, PCS 7's special function library, PCS 7's HMI system, OS, for monitoring, operator stations via Ethernet and up to coordinating systems.
As a part of this training, you will receive free trial to the digital learning platform SITRAIN access. This gives you access to many web-based training courses 7 days before the start of the course and the test period ends automatically 14 days after the end of the course.
On SITRAIN access you will find, for example, basic knowledge of process control technology, PROFIBUS in process automation, PROFINET or data communication with Industrial Ethernet. But also further topics such as an overview of digitization in process automation or an introduction to SIMIT and the Virtual Controller.

Prerequisites
We only recommend this training if you have extensive experience with process automation and process systems and experience from other DCS systems. Otherwise we recommend the training Simatic PCS7 grund standard (ST-PCS7SYS) that is less intense and will give you more time for practical exercises, etc.
Note
The training is conducted with material in English. Practical applications are carried out on Simatic S7-400 and the current version of Simatic PCS 7. For those who want more space for exercises or do not have much experience in process automation, we recommend the longer training Simatic PCS7 system basic standard (9 days) and the PCS 7 service course (4.5 days) is recommended for those who will primarily maintain and troubleshoot completed installations.
