Omicron - Secondary Basic course. (H-OMIBAS)

  • After completing this training, the participant will have knowledge of:

    • Performing standard tests with the CMC OMICRON testing unit.
    • Creating an OCC file to perform these tests.
    • How to commissioning an overcurrent protection using a self-made OCC file.

    After completing this training, the participant will be able to:

    • Test a standard overcurrent protection device.
    • Perform time-dependent maintenance tests on overcurrent protections and simple protections using an Omicron testing unit.
    • Built automatic test using the standard modules within an OCC-file.

    During the course, basic tests are performed using an overcurrent time protection as an example an overcurrent protection.
    This training is the Basic training that handles the ground principles of testing using the program TestUniverse.

Target Group

  • This course is meant for all persons that need to be able to perform tests on digital protection relays using a CMC testing unit from Omicron with the program TestUniverse. Engineers, commissioning engineers and maintenance technicians.

Prerequisites

  • Basic knowledge of different types of digital protections.

Note

    1. The course has a high level of praxis. All is directed to getting to understand what needs to be done by a tester to test digital protections using an OMICRON in combination with SIPROTEC 4 or 5 models.
    2. In general, in a groups of 2 persons the course will be followed, each group will have use of a training PC with the software TestUniverse installed SIPROTEC device.
    3. The participants must all bring their own OMICRON testing unit and may bring their own PC’s if the OMICRON TU*1 software version is installed beforehand. If bringing an own OMICRON testing CMC is not possible the participants must inform us beforehand because we need to see if we can provide enough testing units. If an own PC is also not possible, please also inform us to beforehand for us to plan a training-pc with already installed software. The OMICRON licence-file can be found on your PC in the directory OMICRON with the name OMICRON.lic. Please always bring for your own OMICRON the original OMICRON TU installation-CD or the OMICRON Licence file for the communication with the OMICRON testing units.
