  • The course is primarily intended to familiarize participants with the operation and standard settings encountered when programming modern digital protections and to make a selection of the protections to be applied based on their single line diagram.

Objectives

  • After completing this training, the participant will know:

    • The basic measurement values and display of analog measurements connected to a digital protection.
    • The basic structure of networks in various installations and their components and characteristics.
    • The settings of the discussed protections.
    • The additional measures within the protections to prevent false reactions.
    • The characteristics of recognizable Typical fields within an installation.
    • How to choose a protection concept according to their own preferences.

  • Persons involved in the operation of electrical installations who want to gain more knowledge about the practical application of the most common digital protections.

Content

  • Topics in the course:

    Basic information on measurements of digital protections.

    From single line to SIPROTEC.

    Overcurrent protection.

    Differential protections.

    Distance protection and fault location.



    Note: Machine protection/motor protection is not included in this 3-day training. An additional training day can be scheduled if there is sufficient interest.

Prerequisites

  • Basic knowledge of Power Engineering or an affinity with it.

    1. De cursus heeft een sterk demonstrerend karakter. Zoveel mogelijk wordt de theoretische stof verduidelijk met behulp van demonstraties met de OMICRON in combinatie met een SIPROTEC-model.
