SIPROTEC 4 basiscursus met DIGSI 4 (H-SIPBAS)

Objectives

  • In this two-day course, you will learn how to install the DIGSI software package on your PC and how to communicate with various protections from the SIPROTEC 4 series. During this course, overcurrent-time protections will be available for practical exercises. The focus is on entering settings, verifying settings, and reading faults.

    The course does not cover the functionality of a protection or the selection of settings. For this, there are product-specific courses. You will learn to use the DIGSI tool and will work with the most commonly used overcurrent-time protections during the course.

  • The topics covered in this course are:

    • Including a SIPROTEC 4 protection in a project file based on the required protection functions
    • The meaning of the main settings of the overcurrent-time protection
    • Assigning inputs and outputs to internal signals
    • Recording the data of the current and voltage transformers
    • The meaning and input of the main parameters
    • Handling passwords
    • Setting the language
    • Reading the Event and Trip log
    • Uploading and downloading from DIGSI to the protection relay
    • Reading the primary and secondary measured values
    • A demonstration of the fault analysis program SIGRA
    • Saving a configuration to exchange information with Siemens experts
    • Exchanging and commissioning a SIPROTEC protection
    • Flowing through and verifying the settings

Prerequisites

  • Participants are expected to be familiar with the basic functions of electrical protections and be able to verify the operation of conventional overcurrent-time protections.

Note

  • Participants will work in pairs, with each group having access to a PC with the DIGSI software package and an overcurrent-time protection.
    An OMICRON test kit is available for testing protections.
    The course has a strong practical focus.
    Everything is aimed at mastering all the actions that a technician must be able to perform on an operational protection.
    During the course, there is always the possibility to use your own PCs and current kits.
