Vakbekwaam Persoon hoogspanning + laagspanning [6d] (H-VP)

  • The course consists of two modules. The first module, lasting 2 days, covers the topics tested in the STIPEL basic exam, with an emphasis on technical aspects. The second module, lasting 4 days, covers the topics tested in the certification exam, focusing on safety aspects, knowledge of standards and regulations, and the safe execution of operational actions, safety measures, and tasks based on work plans and operational plans. Day training, spread over several weeks and consisting of theory and practical lessons. Duration: 5 weeks.

Objectives

  • After completing this training, the participant will:
    • Have knowledge of the relevant standards and legislation for the safe operation of electrical installations.
    • Have knowledge of the electricity supply.
    • Understand the structure and function of the installation.
    • Have knowledge of the theoretical backgrounds of electrical power engineering needed to work safely in high and low voltage installations.
    • Understand the consequences of overloading, short circuits, and arc flashes in electrical installations.
    • Be aware of the tasks and responsibilities of the Competent Person as outlined in NEN 3140 and 3840.
  • After completing this training, the participant will be able to:
    • Avoid electrical risks that can lead to serious bodily injury due to electric shock and arc flashes from short circuits.
    • Identify components in high and low voltage installations and describe their applications.
    • Assess how and with what tools operational and safety actions should be performed, and execute these actions based on work and operational plans.
    • Recognize and use tools, aids, and personal protective equipment to work safely and avoid risks.
    • Draft work and operational plans.
Type Face-to-face training
Duration 6 days The course date you see on the Dates and Registration page is the start date of the basic course. Usually, the following theory days are given with a one-week interval. The practical sessions will be scheduled later, depending on the number of participants. More information about the planned course dates can be found under Trajectory Dates and (partial) overview.

    • ARBO legislation and the standards NEN 3140 and 3840
    • Tasks and authorities of the Competent Person
    • Structure of the national electricity grid
    • Network structures and neutral point treatment in industrial and public networks
    • Switchgear
    • Transformers
    • Reading and interpreting electrical diagrams
    • Thermal and dynamic short-circuit strength and consequences of overloading
    • Operation of fault indicators and protection relays
    • Switching in high and low voltage installations
    • Taking the correct safety measures
    • Structure and function of high and low voltage installations
    • Work and operational plans

Prerequisites

  • Electrical engineering knowledge at MBO level 2 and practical experience with work in electrical installations.

Note

  • STIPEL Exam
  • The program is fully aligned with the requirements described in the STIPEL certification schemes for the Competent Person for high and/or low voltage. See http://www.stipel.nl/elektrotechniek for more information. Participation in the STIPEL exam is not mandatory but is recommended. The costs for the exam are not included. Exam candidates must register separately for the STIPEL exam. See the IBEX site under downloads: http://diensten.kiwa.nl/bouw/examens-basis-stipel.
  • Combined High-Low Voltage Exam
  • Siemens Training primarily focuses on individuals designated for high voltage installations. Given the overlap in the certification schemes for high and low voltage and the way the subjects are covered in this course, participation in the combined high-low voltage exam is recommended.
