SIPROTEC Netstoringen analyseren (H-BST)

  • The course is primarily designed to teach all users of SIEMENS SIPROTEC protections how to read and interpret faults that have been detected by a SIPROTEC protection using the recorded data available in the digital relay.

Objectives

  • This initially two-day training is intended to teach methods for analyzing faults in SIPROTEC protections.
  • The course is primarily designed to teach all users of SIEMENS SIPROTEC protections how to read and interpret faults that have been detected by a SIPROTEC protection using the recorded data available in the digital relay.
  • Day 1: This is done in several steps, so that first-line recognition by technical staff such as technicians or other employees can be done directly using the data from the LEDs and the information available on the protection display. Additionally, in a second step, the relevant data from the last fault can be manually retrieved from the relay.
  • Day 2: Furthermore, the course will cover the additional data available in the relay via a PC to perform a specialized analysis.
Type Face-to-face training
Duration 2 days
Language nl

Target Group

  • All individuals involved in the operation of electrical installations who wish to gain more knowledge on how to recognize network faults within digital protections and how to read and analyze them. This includes engineers, commissioning personnel, and maintenance technicians.

Content

  • Day 1:
    • The moment a network fault occurs.
    • The difference between SIPROTEC up to version 4 and SIPROTEC 5.
    • Step 1: The first indications of a fault on the SIPROTEC protection itself.
    • 12 examples with an overview of the obtained results.
    • Step 2: Manually retrieving faults from a SIPROTEC protection.
    • Resetting the relay after it has registered a fault (Lockout).
    • The operational messages of a protection (SIPROTEC 3 to SIPROTEC 5).
    • 10 examples with an overview of the obtained results.
  • Day 2:
    • Step 3: Retrieving all information from the SIPROTEC protection via the PC.
    • The standard configuration of a SIPROTEC 4 and SIPROTEC 5 protection to trace which settings were used.
    • How to connect to a SIPROTEC 4 or SIPROTEC 5 protection to save everything for analysis.
    • The CT and VT connections of a SIPROTEC 4 and SIPROTEC 5.
    • Explanation using two examples of the SIGRA analysis program.
    • Setting up an analysis of SIPROTEC 4 and SIPROTEC 5 protections with examples of analyses (Motor field/Motor HS/7UT612/7SJ82).
    • Step 4: Using Advanced Transplay from OMICRON. Optimization of settings and testing.

Prerequisites

  • Participants are expected to have basic knowledge of energy technology or at least an affinity for it. If attending the second day, participants must have completed the first day of the course.

Note

  • 1. The course has a strong demonstrative character. As much as possible, the necessary theoretical material is clarified using demonstrations with the OMICRON in combination with SIPROTEC 4 and 5 models, allowing participants to gain knowledge through hands-on experience.
  • 2. On the second day, participants usually work in pairs, with each group having access to a PC with the DIGSI software package and a SIPROTEC protection. An OMICRON test kit is available for testing protections.
  • 3. Also for the second day, participants can use their own PCs and current kits during the course, provided the correct versions are installed on them.
  • 4. The course will proceed with a minimum of 4 participants. For more information or special requests, please contact the Power Academy.
