CERTIFIED Installer’s Course (CPI-INS)
- Dates and Registration
- A large percentage of the problems experienced on live PROFIBUS systems stem from poor layout and installation. This is often due to a lack of basic knowledge of layout and installation requirements and lack of experience in building and testing networks. The objective of this course is to provide the theoretical knowledge and practical competence to layout, install, test and maintain PROFIBUS networks. The course gives an introduction to PROFIBUS system terminology, operation and characteristics. It provides a basic understanding of the problems that can occur in high speed digital communication systems, their causes and solutions. The various rules and guidelines for PROFIBUS network layout and installation are covered and practical techniques for implementing these are explored.
- Overview of PROFIBUS network technology Signal transmission and interference pickup on signal cables PROFIBUS wiring guidelines Practical - Build and test cable for network. (Hand-held tester). Shielding, grounding, segregation and installation Intrinsic Safety, Fibre Optics and PA segments Practical test and open-book multiple-choice test
- No formal requirements or prior knowledge of fieldbus systems is required. Understand the basics of digital communications is beneficial.
- The course is specified by many companies across a wide range of industries as a pre-requisite for anyone working on PROFIBUS systems. The course is also now a pre-requisite for attending the Certified PROFIBUS Engineer course.
