Simatic S7 Profibus Course (IK-PBSYS)

  • The course is directed at engineering and maintenance personnel, who need to troubleshoot, use diagnostics and create new applications using various types of Profibus connections. The course uses a 'hands-on' practical approach to reinforce the theoretical aspects of the training.

Objectives

  • On completion of this course the participant will be able to:-
  • Install and troubleshoot Profibus DP Networks
  • Install and troubleshoot Profibus I/O, ET200M and ET200S
  • Configure a CPU as a DP Master or as an Intelligent DP Slave
  • Configure a CP342-5 as a DP Master or as a DP Slave
  • Integrate different diagnostic software blocks into an existing program
  • Configure a DP/DP Coupler to link two independent Profibus Networks
  • Configure CP342-5 for Communication connections
  • Configure and troubleshoot S7 connections
  • Configure and troubleshoot Send/Receive connections

  • Each of the above topic areas are backed up by practical exercises using a system model, consisting of the S7- 300 automation system, the ET200S distributed peripheral, the ET200M distributed peripheral and a conveyor model. Working examples are provided and tested out during the course.

Prerequisites

  • The ability to use a MS Windows PC (2000/XP), keyboard and mouse to include opening and closing programs, locating files, copy and paste objects /data (text, etc). Drag and drop files, objects/data (text, etc). Use of menus and multi-menus, manipulation of windows within a multi-window environment. Use of MS Windows Help.
  • Must have attended either ST-PRO1 or ST-SERV1 and ST-SERV2.

Note
