Migrazione SIMATIC HMI (HMI-MIG)

  • The activity provides participants with the necessary knowledge to carry out the migration of obsolete SIMATIC HMI devices to current models. Given the conditions listed below to proceed, the course includes the simulation of an actual migration of an obsolete device owned by the Customer. This device is carefully selected to ensure that the instructor can successfully complete the migration within the duration of the training session. The source project resulting from the conversion will be handed over to the Customer, ready to be transferred to the target HMI device. The subsequent commissioning of the new HMI is not included in the scope of the course.

Objectives

  •
    • Identify the different migration scenarios
    • Transfer the migration methodology: all necessary steps in the correct sequence
    • Provide the tools to carry out migrations independently
    • At the end of the course, and at their discretion, the Customer may decide whether to perform the migrations independently or request a quotation from Siemens to have them carried out through a customized “turnkey” service
Type Face-to-face training
Duration 1 day

Target Group

  •
    • Maintenance technicians
    • Technical office and/or plant engineering staff

Content

  •
    • Migration scenarios: source and target HMI devices
    • Dimensional compatibility: overall dimensions and any required panel cutout modifications for installing the new HMI device
    • Identification of the HMI device to be migrated
    • Verification of project source files and required HMI software: do I have everything I need?
    • Key aspects to consider
    • Step-by-step migration process
    • Simulation of the migrated project

Prerequisites

  •
    • Knowledge of SIMATIC HMI devices and the various development software environments
    • Although not strictly required, it is recommended to request an on-site visit for an “HMI Survey” before booking the course. This will be carried out by our specialized personnel to map the installed HMI devices in the plant. The purpose of this activity is to identify the specific migration scenarios for the surveyed plant and to produce a report that will be delivered to the Customer.
