More and more extensive systems require an efficient design of time-sensitive networks, in order to perform quicker and simpler commissioning and maintenance activities. The course will provide you with an overview of how a PROFINET network works and how to correctly install it through the creation of a small Controller-Device network in the TIA Portal environment. They will come to you the basic integrated diagnostic tools and the main configuration tools are shown.

After attending the course, you can:
- Identify the main characteristics of a PROFINET network
- Apply simple rules to optimize your network
- Configure a PROFINET device using the available tools
- Access system diagnostics

- Introduction to Industrial Ethernet
- Fundamentals of PROFINET cabling
- Correct installation rules for a PROFINET network
- Basics of the PROFINET communication mechanism
- PROFINET devices: Controller and Device
- Configuration of a PROFINET network in the TIA Portal
- Device description file (GSD)
- Configuration of PROFINET nodes via SINEC PNI, SIMATIC Automation Tool and PRONETA
- Integrated basic diagnostics via TIA Portal
Theoretical knowledge will be deepened with practical exercises by accessing a remote system. This is made up of:
- SIMATIC S7-1500
- SIMATIC ET 200SP
- PC station with SIMATIC STEP 7 Professional (TIA Portal)

TIA-SERV1 or TIA-PRO1 courses or equivalent basic knowledge of automation systems.
SIE-ETHBA course or equivalent basic knowledge.
