For individual mass production and the requirements for traceability, the identification of products and transport containers is essential. RFID (radio frequency identification) UHF (ultra-high frequency) technology plays a key role in this process. It enables automated "communication" between assets and controllers or PC systems. A prerequisite for digitizing the entire value chain.
The RF600 system from Siemens offers suitable interfaces for integration into the automation level. The TIA Portal configuration software provides function blocks for the user program to map any UHF applications in the user program. A clear simplification for every PLC programmer when creating the UHF application with an RF600 system.
After attending this course, you will be familiar with the possibilities and handling of the TIA Portal configuration software in the environment of RF600 UHF applications. The importance of a correctly planned and properly implemented PLC application in the context of a process-reliable UHF application becomes clear and the right mechanisms for implementation are discussed and applied. You can independently identify important features of an UHF application and select and program the appropriate sequence. Finally, error handling concepts are developed and common scenarios of maintenance and diagnostics are discussed.
The course content is not applicable to SIMATIC S7-300 / S7-400 controllers.

Introduction and overview
Blocks in the TIA Portal
Functioning and differences of the user blocks
Program-relevant parameters of an UHF application
Diagnostics concept, maintenance, error routines
Basic knowledge in handling of TIA Portal is required. Prior participation in the "RFID UHF Technology and Practice" training or equivalent UHF experience is recommended.
Certification (Siemens CEIID-Level)
This training prepares for the "Siemens Certified Expert for Industrial Identification - RFID-UHF" certification. The voluntary certification exam takes place at the end of the training. Optionally, the exam can be taken at a later date.
