Online-Training - KNX - basic course (certified by KNX Association) (BC-KNXBK)

Short Description

  • In this course you learn the basics of data transmission for KNX communication technology. Essential contents include the project breakdown, configuration, commissioning and service operations with the engineering tool software (ETS). The course is split into 50% theory and 50% practical training, and it teaches you how to operate the universal KNX software tool, the ETS, always in the most current version. It ends with a 3 h certification exam, split in 2 parts, the quote for passing is 50% in each part.

    This course is also available as a face-to-face training.


  • During the training, you will apply your new-found knowledge in exercises and thereby improve your learning results. The course then ends with the theoretical and practical KNX exam. On passing this exam, you receive the official KNX certificate and can then conclude the KNX Partner contract with the KNX Association.

  • Knowledge of national and international electrical installation standards, especially as regarding electrical safety regulations (in Germany: DIN VDE 0100); Experience in working with MS Windows 10 Computers


  • We use ETS5; the training schedule is split in a preparation phase (between 3 and 7 days before the actual training starts), announced by the trainer, and a one week regular training in which the students use a life meeting tool, such as Teams or Circuit, and Teamviewer for remote access to the training laptops. This course is evaluated as a partial module for the qualification "Siemens KNX Building System Specialist" and counts 5 points. (12 required).
